Job running but no earnings
What to check when Salad shows a job running (GPU busy) but your balance isn't increasing: miners that pay cents, a stale display, or a job that isn't actually running.
Most of the time this is one of three things:
- The running job is the crypto miner, which pays very little on modern cards - a few cents a day - so the balance barely moves even though the GPU is at 100%.
- The app's display hasn't refreshed: the job finished or changed and the window still shows the old state.
- The job isn't running at all: it's stuck downloading or repeatedly restarting, and the activity indicator is misleading.
Tell them apart
Look at the Earnings Summary, not the Earn page
Open your Earnings Summary and look at the last few hours. Small, regular credits mean the machine is paid for what it's doing (if very small amounts, probably mining). No credits at all for several hours means the job isn't really running - go to step 3.
Check if you are crypto mining
Miners run only when no container job is available for your hardware. If you'd rather the card waited for container jobs instead of mining, turn mining off under Settings > Workload Types (details). Turning it off doesn't bring container jobs sooner; it just stops the low-paying fallback.
Refresh the display
Close the Salad window and reopen it from the tray icon. Don't choose Exit - that stops the running job. If the display now matches the Earnings Summary, nothing was wrong.
If nothing has been credited for hours
Check the bell icon for a Degraded notification (Degraded State), then look at the activity indicator: stuck on Downloading means a download problem (Downloads slow or failing); flipping between Initializing and Running every few minutes means the job keeps restarting (Jobs keep failing or restarting).
Earnings are credited while the job runs
Container jobs pay as they go, not at the end. If a job ran for hours and you were paid nothing, the machine wasn't actually running it - the logs will show why, please message support.
Still stuck?
Send Salad Support your machine ID, the job name shown on the Earn page, the hours you expected earnings for (with time zone), and your logs folder zipped (how to find it). We can see what the machine ran and what it was paid for, hour by hour.

Earning less than expected
Why a GPU listed as high demand can still be paid at the low end of its range, what "priority" means, and how to tell a normal dip from a problem.
Why do jobs keep failing or restarting?
Why container jobs can stop, restart or last only minutes without any error in the app, and why that usually isn't your machine.
