Bandwidth sharing troubleshooting

Bandwidth sharing uses spare upload capacity, runs alongside other jobs, and pays according to demand in your region. Two questions cover almost every ticket.

I don't see the bandwidth sharing option

The Bandwidth Sharing card on the Performance tab only appears for Chefs in regions where bandwidth jobs run. If it isn't there, bandwidth sharing isn't available in your country yet. Regions with bandwidth jobs:

I enabled it but see no earnings

• Jobs go to the fastest, most stable connections first. If faster machines are ahead of you in the queue, you may need to wait. Bandwidth demand also varies; gaps between jobs are normal - the program may be active but does not need to actively share data. You are paid per megabit transferred.
• Keep Chopping. Spots open up over time.
• Reduce other traffic on your connection while Chopping, and prefer a wired connection (tips).
• Power-cycle your router (off, wait two minutes, on). Many ISPs assign a new public address, which helps if your old one had been flagged.
• Bandwidth jobs still earn XP.
• Run only on residential IP addresses - no Proxies, VPNs, or datacenter IPs can earn through bandwidth sharing.
