My earning rate has dropped to 0
Why the earning rate shows 0 between jobs, when that's normal, and what to check when it never comes back.
The earning rate shows what the current job pays. Between jobs it is 0, and that's expected: customers start and stop workloads throughout the day, and your machine waits in the queue for the next one. Dips of minutes to a couple of hours are normal, and rates differ from job to job because each customer sets a priority for their workload.
Give it time, but check these
- Demand. Look up your card on the Network Monitor. Low demand means longer waits. Leave Salad running; restarting doesn't help.
- Degraded notifications. Open the bell icon. Any Degraded notification stops container jobs until it's fixed: Degraded State.
- Other programs. Games, local AI tools and anything hardware-accelerated keep jobs away. Salad works when the PC is idle.
- Laptops. Plug in the original charger and use the vendor's performance mode (GPU power limit).
- Antivirus and firewall. Make sure Salad is whitelisted.
- The checklist. Everything on Not getting container jobs.
Never had a rate at all?
If the machine has been Chopping for a day or more and the rate has always been 0, something is stopping it qualifying. Go to Finding Job for hours, which ends with exactly what to send support.
Salad can't compensate for time without jobs. Earnings depend on customer demand for your hardware, and no machine is guaranteed a container job around the clock.

Not getting container jobs
A checklist to make your machine container-ready when it only ever gets bandwidth or mining jobs, or no container jobs at all.
Earning less than expected
Why a GPU listed as high demand can still be paid at the low end of its range, what "priority" means, and how to tell a normal dip from a problem.
