How to Whitelist Salad in Webroot

1. Open Webroot

This will be the main screen you are presented within Webroot, and is your base of virus-fighting operations.

2. Navigate to Settings

To access the settings of Webroot, click on the little gear icon beside ‘PC Security’ situated just on the right of the screen.

3. Click on 'Block/Allow Files'

After you have navigated to your settings, you will be presented with your AV’s protection settings. From there, select the ‘Block/Allow Files’ tab as pictured below.

4. Click on 'Add File'

After you have navigated to the ‘Block/Allow Files’, you will be presented your exclusions list. From there, click ‘Add File’.

5. Adding Salad as an Exception

After clicking on ‘Add file’, you’ll want to navigate to the Salad miner folder and select it, the path for this is “C:\ProgramData\Salad\workloads” and from that folder, select all .exe files inside each of the folders (these are the specific miners we use). As Webroot doesn’t support folder exclusion you will need to add all .exe files as exclusions.

6. Click Open

Once you’ve found your Salad miner .exe files and clicked it, hit ‘Open’, and it will bring you back to the main Webroot Exclusion whitelist page with your newly added exclusions. Repeat if needed for each .exe.

11. Run Salad

Open your Salad widget and click the play button. Contact support here if this issue persists.
