How to Whitelist Salad in VIPRE

1. Open VIPRE

This will be the main screen you are presented within VIPRE, and is your base of virus-fighting operations.

2. Navigate to Settings

To access the settings of VIPRE, click on ‘Manage’ situated right beside ‘Account’.

3. Navigate to Exclusions

After clicking on ‘Manage’, you will not find the Exclusion settings at first. You will need to scroll down a little to find it. You will need to find ‘Exclude the Scans’ settings by scrolling down a bit. After finding, click on ‘Manage Excluded Items.

4. Adding an Exclusion

After you have found the ‘Exclude From Scans’ settings and clicked on ‘Manage Excluded Items’, a new window will appear which shows your excluded items. From there, click on ‘Add New Location or File’ situated on the bottom-left-corner of the window. After you have clicked that, a new drop-down list will appear on the top, from that list, select the ‘Folder’ option.

5. Adding Salad as an Exclusion

After clicking on the ‘Folder’ option, you’ll want to navigate to the Salad miner folder and select it, the path for this is “C:\ProgramData\Salad\workloads” and click ‘Select Folder’..

6. Click on Select Folder

Once you’ve found your Salad installation and clicked it, hit ‘Select Folder’, and it will bring you back to the main VIPRE Exclusion whitelist page with your newly added exclusions
