How to Whitelist Salad in GData

1. Open GData

This will be the main screen you are presented within GData and is your base of virus-fighting operations.

2. Navigate to Settings

To access the antivirus settings of GData, press the little gear situated on the very right of the main screen.

3. Click on 'Exceptions'

After you have navigated to your Antivirus settings, you will be presented with some settings related to your antivirus. From those settings, find and click on ‘Exceptions’ which is situated on the left of the screen within the ‘Virus Monitor’ area.

4. Adding an Exception

After you have found and clicked on ‘Exceptions’, you will be presented with GData’s exclusion list. From there, select ‘New’ situated on the right of the screen.

After clicking on ‘New’, select ‘Directory’ as the exception type. On the ‘Directory’ dialogue box, you’ll want to navigate the Salad miner folder. The path for this is “C:\ProgramData\Salad\workloads” and click ‘Ok’.

6. Click on 'Ok'

Once you’ve found your Salad installation and clicked it, hit ‘Ok’, and it will bring you back to the main GData exception whitelist page with your newly added exception. After that, make sure to click ‘Ok’ again, which is situated on the bottom-right-corner of the exception page to confirm the exclusion.
